![]() ![]() I have used an application called QMidi to bulk load sounds into my ddrum4. Once the upload completed, I selected the new sound in the ddrum4 triggered it using the appropriate button on the ddrum4. I rewound to the beginning of the track and hit play.ĥ. Ran PT 5.3.1cs2 and opened the session I created in PT 6.01.Ĥ. Rebooted to load the updated MIDI I/O extension.ģ. Downloaded and installed the latest MIDI I/O driver v.1.5 for OS 9.Ģ. Deleted the newly uploaded sound from the ddrum4.įor comparison, I reinstalled my OS9 drive (which I had gladly removed from my Mac when I upgraded to PT6) and did the following:ġ. The only one that produces no sound is the one I just uploaded.ġ1. I was able to select any other sample already in the ddrum4 and they all work correctly. I selected another sound in the ddrum4 and triggered using the same button and I heard the selected sample. Selected the newly uploaded sound in the ddrum4 and triggered it using the appropriate button on the ddrum4. The dump proceeded all the way to the end without any error messages on the ddrum4.ġ0. This indicates that it was receiving the sysex dump. The ddrum4 started counting down the number of blocks remaining it was expecting to receive. So, I simply rewound to the beginning of the track and hit play.ĩ. No preparation is needed on the ddrum4 to receive sysex data. (I'm not sure if this was necessary, but I read this sysex tip on DUC.)Ĩ. Changed the song tempo from 120bpm to 60bpm. Set the MIDI output of the track to the appropriate MIDI I/O output port connected to the ddrum4. I changed the view from notes to sysex and verified there were sysex messages on the track.ĥ. Imported the extracted MIDI file into a new track in the session. Unzipped the downloaded file to extract the MIDI file containing the sample data encoded as sysex messages.ģ. For these tests, I used the Simon Philips CYMB_734 SPcrash1 DRY3S sample.Ģ. Downloaded one of the Clavia ddrum4 samples. PT 6.01 under OS X 10.2.4 = Failure: Upload completes, no soundġ. This leads me to believe there is an issue with sending sysex messages via the MIDI I/O under OS X. QMidi has an OS9 version and the sample upload works fine using it. I have tried other programs (QMidi & SysEx Librarian) to send the sounds to the ddrum4 and they also fail under OS X. I have tried uploading different samples from Clavia's site with the same results. In fact, when I take the PT 6.01 session and open it with PT 5.3.1cs2 under OS9, the upload works and the sample triggers fine. The same procedure works fine under OS9 with PT 5.3.1cs2. Although the file appears to transfer correctly, no sound is played when newly uploaded sample is selected and triggered. I am trying to upload sounds to my Clavia ddrum4 module by loading a MIDI file (containing the ddrum4 samples in sysex format) into PT 6.01 and playing it. I am having problems sending sysex data via my MIDI I/O under OS X. ![]()
